We won a “Leland!”

On Saturday, my fellow docent Greg Wertz, my wife Alyssa, and I were presented with “Leland” Docent Awards from International Printing Museum for our volunteer efforts over the past year and change. The award is named for Dr. Leland Whitson (pictured at right), a life-long printer, docent director, physician, and all around great guy. The award itself was modeled after a single piece of metal type (Copperplate Gothic, in fact), and committed to the finest of redwood by another highly talented Museum docent, Dan Craig. We’re really proud, and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing place with a strong, passionate community of fellow type/printing/design nerds.
