Inked photopolymer plate close up

Been spending quite a few Saturdays, including today, over at the International Printing Museum in Carson, the incredible local resource that will play home next week to the 2nd Annual LA Printers Fair. Alyssa has been creating block prints on her own for some time, so we brought her linoleum blocks (as well as a photopolymer plate we had made of one of her designs) to the museum to test them out on some heavy duty equipment. Turns out they ran just fine on the Vandercooks, and while we were there, we also had some fun setting type and creating some limited edition prints that will be sold at our vendor booth at the fair.

Alyssa even shot this video which would seem, to the average viewer, to be proof that I actually know what I’m doing. I honestly do not.

If you’re in the area, and even remotely intrigued by printing, typography, book arts, paper, and design, stop by the Printers Fair on September 25th. Should be a grand old time.
