What is the name of the font you used?–My friend has been looking for this font.

    Hi Jeff,

The typeface used for “The” and “Is Hiring” is likely Huxley Vertical, although I think the metal version that I used may be slightly different from the variations offered digitally. The “Night Shift” typeface is something I’ll have to research. Most of the type that we use at the International Printing Museum is unlabeled, so I’ll have to prowl through specimen books to figure out exactly which face it is.

Looks like “The” and “Is Hiring” are likely to be a typeface called Tourist Extra Condensed, similar to Huxley but ever so slightly different. The closest digital approximation is called Turista Flaca NF, which was based on Tourist.

The more extended gothic is something I’m still researching, as WhatTheFont had no direct matches.

    OK, I’ve become obsessed.

Another close match is LTC Jefferson Gothic, but it lacks some of the glyph forms that I used in “The Night Shift is Hiring.” Strange how it’s not possible to find everything in one place.

Thanks for your help Josh! I’ll pass the information on to my friend.
